FAQ
Is linen easy to care for?
Carlina curtains can be machine washed separately on delicate cycle at 30°. Professional dry-cleaning is recommended but not mandatory. As Carlina washed linen is naturally slightly creased, it requires little or no ironing.
Is it pure linen or a blend of linen and other fibers?
Our Carlina range is made from 100% linen. The linen fibers are European and the fabric is certified Oeko-Tex standard 100, attesting to the fact that no toxic substances have been used in the manufacture of the fabric. The black bourdon stitch is made of polyester.
Does linen shrink in the wash?
It is important to note that, due to its natural material composition, the fabric is bound to lose around 3% of its initial dimension after the first wash. If you are in any doubt when choosing the size of your curtain, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department. In subsequent washes, the curtain will retain its size.
How effective are Carlina curtains in blocking out light and providing privacy?
Carlina's unlined curtains are sifting: they let light through subtly, giving you privacy. If you'd like to completely block out the light, you can opt for Carlina's lined linen curtains, 80% blackout. Colors white and light beige are also available in a 100% blackout version.
